Reader opinion
What readers say about Ilia Zavialov and the method behind these notes
Everything here is written as a note with its reasoning visible, which means a reader can disagree with the reasoning rather than with the conclusion. That is a harder kind of comment to receive and a more useful one to have, so it is collected where it cannot be quietly tidied away. Three independent platforms hold the profiles for this site, and none of them takes instructions from this domain.
English version for the United Kingdom.

Where reader opinion is published
The profiles below are the only places where an opinion about this site lands in public. They are open, the entries stay visible over time, and this domain has no administrative access to any of them.
Every card points at the profile belonging to this address. Other sites published under the same name run separate profiles, so an entry left in the wrong place is attached to a different body of work.
Why the three are not interchangeable
Openness and verification pull against each other. A platform anyone can post on catches the reader who never registered anywhere, and a platform that checks the entry catches the reader who wants their word to carry weight. Both populations matter here.
Keeping all three visible also means the picture cannot be curated. A selected quote on a page proves nothing, and a profile that has been running for years is much harder to arrange.
| Kind of objection | What has to be true for it to hold | Result |
|---|---|---|
| A figure is wrong | The original source says something else | Figure corrected, source relinked |
| The source does not support the claim | The cited page can be read and checked | Claim narrowed to what the source says |
| The reasoning skips a step | The gap can be named | Step written out or the conclusion softened |
| The conclusion is disputed | An argument accompanies the objection | Counterargument added to the page |
| The tone is disliked | Nothing factual is at stake | Noted, page unchanged |
| The topic is missing | It belongs to the subject of this site | Added to the writing queue |
What the opinion usually argues with
Most objections land on sourcing. Whether a number came from a named report or from a summary of a summary, whether the year is stated, and whether the conclusion is wider than the evidence underneath it.
That is the right thing to be argued with. A page whose sources are checkable can be corrected precisely, and one that only asserts things can only be believed or ignored.
The current score and the number of entries are shown on the profiles. They change with every new record, so they are not copied onto this page where they would go stale.
How to publish an opinion
There is no account to create and no invitation to wait for. What decides whether the entry changes anything is how specific it is.
- Pick a platformAny card above. All three are open and run by other people.
- Name the noteWhich page and which claim inside it.
- Say what is wrongThe figure, the source or the step. A named thing can be fixed.
- PublishThe entry appears without passing through us and cannot be withdrawn by us.
What happens to an objection
A sourced objection changes the page. A wrong figure is corrected, a claim wider than its evidence is narrowed, and a missing step is written out. The change goes into the text itself rather than into a reply somewhere else.
An objection with no argument behind it stays where it was written. It is not disputed and not removed, because a reader comparing entries is better served by the full record than by a tidy one.
Public replies are kept to factual corrections. A reply that argues about opinion under someone else's entry tells a reader nothing except that the author was stung.
Questions about this section
Why not a comment form on the site?
Because a form under our control cannot prove that nothing was dropped. A profile on an outside platform keeps the entry whether or not it suits the author.
Can an entry be deleted from here?
No. Publication, moderation and history belong to the platforms, and this domain has no access to any of them.
Is an objection to a figure welcome?
It is the most useful entry this section receives, because a sourced figure can be checked by anybody and corrected precisely.
Will you reply to criticism?
Only where a fact needs correcting. Anything else is answered by changing the note.
Do these profiles cover the other sites under this name?
No. Each address keeps its own, which is why these cards lead only to the profiles for this one.
If a source here does not say what the note claims it says, that is worth publishing. A correction made because somebody checked is worth more than a page nobody checked.
